Camping, Creek, River, Trailer Access, Guides Allowed, 4WD, Partial Phone ServiceLocated just outside of Pinedale, Wyoming, this property offers access to 2 miles of premium trout water split between the New Fork River and Willow Creek. The river originates from New Fork Lakes in the Wind River Mountains and flows south into this scenic, easily accessible property. Parking is ample, and most of the riverbanks and creek edges are approachable by foot. While a few sections are lined with willows, casting and wading remain manageable for most anglers.
A 4WD vehicle is recommended to access the property, especially during wet conditions. With both a larger river and a smaller creek available, anglers can adjust their tactics based on weather, water clarity, and fishing pressure. Local anglers often favor Willow Creek when nearby rivers are blown out due to thunderstorms, as it tends to remain fishable even in tough weather conditions. This flexibility, combined with beautiful scenery and solitude, makes this a go-to destination for a full day or weekend of Wyoming trout fishing.
This property provides access to two distinct fisheries: the peaceful, intimate New Fork River and the lesser-known but highly productive Willow Creek. The New Fork is a classic wild trout river, home to strong populations of Brown and Rainbow Trout, many in the 14"–24" range. The river features deep pools, undercut banks, and slower meanders that offer ideal habitat for large browns especially during early mornings and low-light conditions.
The New Fork, sourced from a high mountain lake, holds steady flows and clarity longer than many area rivers during runoff and heavy weather. However, when flows are low and clear, trout can be spooky making lighter tippet and smaller flies a smart choice.
Willow Creek is an underrated gem. With easy wading, multiple bends, and deep undercuts, it provides non-stop action for anglers willing to cover water. Because of its smaller size and resilience to summer storms, it’s a great fallback option if other rivers in the area are blown out.
Together, these two waters create a dynamic fishing experience for anglers of all skill levels. Whether nymphing, drifting dries, or swinging small streamers, both Willow Creek and the New Fork offer consistent opportunity in one of Wyoming’s most scenic valleys.
