This Yampa River property, located just outside of Craig, CO and only 30 minutes from downtown Steamboat Springs will provide a diverse experience in many forms. Boasting over a half-mile of riverfront and a 21-acre pond, this location will provide ample opportunity to hone your skills, targeting a variety of species on both still and moving water. The mystery behind every hook set will keep you engaged as this stretch of river can produce, big rainbows and browns alongside the occasional cutthroat and brook trout. The pond boast pike, smallmouth bass, and sunfish. The pike and smallmouth bass have the potential to be a fish of a lifetime. There are no guarantees in the sport of fishing but there has been confirmed 40"+ pike and 5+lbs smallmouth from the landowner. There is a boat put in on the lake on the Yampa property, please note this is to put your boat in by hand. No backing up to the waterfront. Anglers will access the property with no real issues. The banks are moderate but can be steep in certain areas on the Yampa. The lake has easy access all around it. Although we typically get your booking approved within a few hours, please allow up to 1 business day for booking confirmations. Due to livestock and other concerns, dogs and other pets are NOT permitted on this property. Camping prices are per day. Camping is dispersed camping. please practice “leave no trace” principles and pack out all trash. You will need to supply your own water. There are two camping areas on this property both are very flat and and can fit all camping vehicles. It's also very easy to maneuver and turn around on these campsites. The town of Craig does spray for mosquitos and due to that there is very little in the area. Campsite #1: Near the upstream boundary. Campers will have shade most of the day and the ground is fairly flat. Campsite #2: Will be established once the snow melts.

For properties listed as "Community Adventures" there is the possibility that a limited number of other anglers can be on the property at the same time. Just a heads up, some of our spots have other leases that might have anglers casting their lines too. So, hit 'request to book' and we'll make sure to confirm the availability before you pack your gear!
We think it's important to mentor the next generation of anglers. Youth between the ages of 13 and 17 are 50% off for all fishing and small game when you reserve on the Infinite Outdoors app. However, kids 13-17 will need to have an Infinite Outdoors Membership. Youth 12 and under are free and do not need a membership but must follow all property rules.
No, most of our property listings are available to Infinite Outdoors Members without a pass. If you plan on fishing on a regular basis talk to our support team and see if a pass might make sense.

However, we do everything we can to boost your chances! We offer information on local fly shops so you can get the best tips and gear recommendations. As for the size of the fish, it really depends on where you're fishing. We aim to connect you with spots where you have a good shot at landing some great catches, but it's all part of the Do-It-Yourself fly fishing adventure!

The Yampa was still blown out like chocolate milk so we did not even bother. It’s a wide section of the river with not much structure. The pond looked very fishy but we did not have any luck. Fished from kayaks on the first day. The wind was getting the better of us. Next morning ( we camped) I fished the pond for 3 hours first with a streamer but there was so much moss it was a pain. Went back around with a popper and got one giant hit. It might have been the pike the owner told me about but that was it. We left before noon. The pond has reeds all the way around it. There are a few places you can get thru them on the bank to fish. I tried wading but immediately sunk to my shins in the muck. A belly boat might have been the best option but with all the moss and muddy bottom getting in and kicking around might have been a challenge. I imagine as the warmer temperatures come the moss will get worse. Camping was fine. Plenty of room for a small camper. Property was easy to find and get into. Met Michael and he was very nice. I personally would not go back. Plenty of other properties to try!
