Creek, Guides Allowed, 4WDEnjoy 1 mile of the narrow and technical Crab Creek about 15 miles outside of Sprague, Washington. Even when this creek is flowing it sometimes is just a few feet wide. This creek has been called the longest ephemeral stream in North America. This means that even in the driest parts of the year, the creek is a string of unconnected pools. The fish can survive these dry periods because it is a cold spring-fed creek. On this property and creek expect new challenges around every bend of this harsh landscape. Due to the steep slopes and being protected from human tampering Crab Creek has almost an untouched native population of redband trout. Even though the terrain is rough and the fishing technical (not for the faint of heart), if you are stealthy you could be rewarded with some beautiful native fish. The banks are tall with grass and brush and range from 5-10 ft. tall. Be prepared to use mostly wet flies and streamers that imitate crayfish. 3-5 weight range fly rod recommended and be ready to use that roll cast or bow and arrow cast. You will also need to be prepared for rattlesnakes and ticks as they are prevalent in the summer months in this area. Anglers must be very careful when walking on this property in the summer months. There are also big cats, wolves, moose, and other wildlife on the property that you need to be aware of. This property is for you if you are ready for a challenge and an adventure. Please note, Under the Washington Stream Access Law, the public may use rivers and streams for recreational purposes up to the ordinary high-water mark. Although unlikely, you could potentially see other anglers while on this property. RareWaters mission is to spread the power of the outdoors and the inspiration to conserve it. To that end, we try our best to find properties that are away from the crowds for a serene fishing experience. Although we typically get your booking approved within a few hours, please allow up to 1 business day for booking confirmations. Due to livestock and other concerns, dogs and other pets are NOT permitted on this property.
