0*** The photos in this listing will give you a great idea of what things look like in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Located 40 miles outside of Steamboat Springs you will find this beautiful ranch with 1 mile of access on the East Fork of the Williams Fork River. This property is a little bit off of the beaten path so if you are looking to get away from the crowds then the Old Maid Gulch is where it’s at. They say Routt County has a high-density fish population with a low-density human population, the perfect combo.
Access to the river is fairly easy in most areas. You can fish through the BLM lands on this property, however, the banks are quite steep on the BLM side. You have access to both sides of the river. As long as the water is wadeable you can crisscross the river to hit more fishing holes and banks.
Due to livestock and other concerns, dogs and other pets are NOT permitted on this property.
Late May – September is a great time to fish this property. You will find Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout on this stretch of the river. Come summer, hatches abound and the dry fly fishing can be phenomenal. Mayflies, Caddis, Terrestrials, Salmonflies, and small Stoneflies will all catch fish in both their dry and nymph varieties. The surrounding area is also known for its scenic beauty, with the river flowing through forests and meadows and surrounded by the peaks of the Rocky Mountains.
This property is managed in partnership with RareWaters. By booking this property, you agree to RareWaters's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
