River, Guides AllowedCome enjoy 1.5 miles of the White River less than five miles from Meeker, CO. The White River in Colorado's Flat Tops region is a prime destination for wild trout fishing. Originating at Trappers Lake, the river splits into the North Fork and the South Fork, which later merge back together at Buford. From there, the river becomes a freestone stream, meandering through scenic valleys filled with hayfields and pastures. RareWaters anglers will access this hidden treasure of a fishery near Meeker.
Up and downstream properties offer gradual banks that allow for easy walk-in access. Anglers are only able to access the river from the north bank as the opposite bank would be considered trespassing. The river's width ranges from 30' to 60'. This is the upstream property of our two properties on the White River.
Livestock can be found on property throughout the winter and as late as June. Given this fact, pets are not permitted on this property.

Anglers will have the ability to target a multitude of trout species while breaking down this 1 ½ miles of access Brown Trout, Cutthroats, and Rainbows abound. Anglers will also encounter native White Fish in the deeper holes on the property. As anglers work their way through the property, they will find riverbanks that have been protected from degradation. This landowner has spent time and money fencing out cattle to protect the fishery. Anglers will experience long runs, riffles, and deep polls. Midges, mayflies, caddis, and stoneflies are the primary hatches throughout the season. With the prime time being in the spring and fall. Anglers that decide to come when the hay is high make sure to add terrestrials to the box.

Fishing Season: Early spring to late fall, with winter fishing available during the right conditions.
Rod Recommendation: 4wt or 5wt rod, ranging from 8'6" to 9' in length. Using 9' leaders from 3 to 5x will help in targeting the fish.
